Just Who is John McCain?
Submitted by scott on Wed, 09/17/2008 - 19:01.Over the last few months I have been carefully studying John McCain, his claims, and his record. To put it quite bluntly, there is a significant disconnect. This disconnect has become ever so apparent in the news over the last couple days. The collapse of several financial firms brings to light the serious problems facing our economic well being. Everyone naturally begins to ask how this could possibly have happened, especially since we, the US tax payer, are going to foot the bill. The answer to that is quite simple, financial organizations have been able to operate with absolutely

The Palin Effect, Not So Big
Submitted by scott on Mon, 09/15/2008 - 18:09.During the last couple weeks the McCain-Palin campaign have been making claims that the turn out to their campaign events to be quite substantial. They have been referencing numbers that are supposedly are attributed to sources like the Fairfax City Fire Marshal and the Secret Service. However, both of these sources deny having supplied any type of attendance numbers. Furthermore, other sources are attributing the actual attendance to be much less as much as 66% less! The campaigns response is that they substantiated the numbers on the ground. Furthermore, that the election will be w
Liberal Media? Really?
Submitted by scott on Sun, 09/14/2008 - 22:49.Based on the news we have been hearing from CNN it seems that all of Alaska is in love with Sarah Palin. It seems as if she is this sensation that has that entire state shouting for joy. At least that is what one is led to believe when they reported on the huge "welcome home" party for Sarah.
Recently someone sent me this link, take a look and let me know if you still believe Sarah is the wonderful sensation that the news makes her out to be: http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/09/14/alaska-women-reject-palin-rally...
McCain is Not the Type of Maverick We Need
Submitted by scott on Sun, 09/14/2008 - 22:42.Negative campaign ads are something many of us hate but unfortunately we will not seem them go away anytime soon for one simple reason. They work. It is an unfortunate fact that a large percentage of voters respond to them. However, there is one thing that we all do demand and that is they at least be based on truth. Unfortunately we now have a presidential candidate who has taken the negative ads to a new low, he is now flat out lying. Even Carl Rove, the man credited to helping Bush win, using less than desirable practices, has attacked McCain’s recent ads. His exact words were
Just How Important is the Vice President
Submitted by scott on Wed, 09/10/2008 - 22:01.One would need to have been living under a rock to have not heard all the discussion around the vice presidency. There are some who view the vice president as an extremely important position and others who feel that its paramount that we have a good vice president. Obviously the best way to answer this is to simply look at what a vice president does.
Lipstick On a Pig
Submitted by scott on Wed, 09/10/2008 - 21:18.It is truly unfortunate that this campaign has been littered with irrational responses to innocuous statements. Recently Obama referred to McCain-Palin's policies as “lip stick on a pig”. However, now the Republican machine is trying to frame the remark as an attack on Palin's character. The reason why, she has been quoted as saying the difference between a soccer mom and a pit bull is “lip stick”. Putting aside, for a moment, that calling oneself a pit bull is more insulting than being called a pig*, the phrase is used quite often in US English s
Sarah Palin's Bridge
Submitted by scott on Tue, 09/09/2008 - 22:04.I will fully admit that I could never support Sarah Palin, her policies are simply to far removed from what I believe this country is about. Everything from believing that we are doing God's work in Iraq to her refusal to admit that abstinence only programs do not work. However, I must say, I am deeply disappointed with her conduct. For eight years we have tolerated the lies of both Bush and Cheney and their refusal to own up to them even after having been caught. Consider their claim that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction and had connections with terrorist organizations. Ev
Liberal Media?
Submitted by scott on Fri, 09/05/2008 - 18:25.The Republicans are constantly going on about how liberal the media is, how the "liberal media" is to blame for all types of problems. How the liberal media is pandering to the democrats and flocks to report bad news only about conservatives.
Take a look at this article and explain how a supposedly liberal media would behave in this manner: http://mediamatters.org/items/200809050010
