Republicans Launch Tire Pressure Gauge Campaign
Submitted by scott on Tue, 08/05/2008 - 19:02.It seems that the Republicans are only capable of launching smear attacks and espousing empty rhetoric. Recently Obama pointed out that we could save more oil by inflating our tires and having our vehicles tuned up than we could by opening up, currently protected areas, to oil drilling. They, the Republicans, are accusing Obama of being out of touch and not willing to do what it takes to bring down oil prices. Here are some facts regarding both the availability of oil in these protected areas and statistics pertaining to under inflated tires and poor vehicle maintenance.

Viewpoint: Republicans are hooting at Obama's suggestion that inflating your tires can help save energy. But who's really out of touch?

Behavior of an Addict
Submitted by scott on Wed, 07/23/2008 - 19:34.In President Bush's 2006 State of the Union Address he referred to our use of oil as an "addiction". Current calls to drill in the Artic and offshore along with responses to Al Gore's plan is nothing but the response of an addict and its enablers.
Education funding: The downhill slide continues
Submitted by scott on Sat, 07/19/2008 - 02:59.I pity our children and the world we are leaving them. We are leaving them a world where they will have a huge debt and where energy prices will continue to sky rocket. Yet at the same time we won't even give them the tools to cope. Instead we will finance our selfishness by cheating their educational opportunities.

Congressman still faces airport screening problem
Submitted by scott on Fri, 07/18/2008 - 20:19.One must ask themselves, how can our country be protected from terrorists when the lists used to screen for them have so many errors? There is no excuse why innocent people are harassed just because there is someone, on the list, with a name similar to theirs. Furthermore, if time is spent questioning innocent travelers that is time and resources that could have been spent protecting us from the real terrorists!
Tales from the Oversight-Free Zone #3
Submitted by scott on Fri, 07/18/2008 - 17:41.Is it not amazing how many conservatives will accuse democrats of being unpatriotic when, at the same time, they are the ones putting troops in harms way. Our troops deserve better than this! They do not deserve to be electrocuted when taking a shower! It is time that those responsible this answer for these deaths. Not just the companies that did the shoddy work but those who stood by and allowed it to happen!
Simply put, a vote for Norm Coleman is a vote against our troops!

Feds: Climate change to cause 'irreversible' health risks
Submitted by scott on Thu, 07/17/2008 - 21:55.Finally, after much delay, the EPA released a report indicating that climate change (aka global warming) will result in increased diseases. Once again the Bush Administration did all they could to hide this information from us. This is why we can not afford to allow the McCain-Bush ticket from continuing these policies! We need to take back country of this country and we need to save it!
Permanently Ending Our Dependence on Foreign Oil
Submitted by scott on Thu, 07/17/2008 - 19:37.Congress is currently weighing the pros and cons of opening both offshore areas and the Artic to drilling. Here is the problem both of these are environmentally sensitive areas which are already in distress. While we have made significant strides in reducing our impact, when drilling, it is difficult to believe that these areas will not be adversely affected. It is also astonishing that we have leaders making the claim that there are “vast†amounts of oil in these areas. The truth of the matter is that the “proven†quantities would not even last us three years!
