The Race is Not Over
While it is so very easy to get excited
over the latest trends being seen in the polls we can not afford to
become complacent. One thing is certain both McCain and Palin are
going to up the ante, they are going to increase their push on lying
about Obama and they are going to continue to try to paint Obama as a
“bad guy” and someone who “pals around” with terrorists.
Time and time again the Republican machine has proven that they will
use fear and they will do whatever it takes to win.
Last night McCain once again raised
“concerns” with Obama's connection with Ayers and with ACORN.
Without doubt Ayers' connection with the Weather Underground was not
a good thing and there is evidence to suggest that he, not Obama, was
involved in bombings. However, with that said, him and Obama
happened to live in the same area and they did serve on some boards
together. Also, it would appear that Ayers has “supported” Obama
in the past politically. However, there is no evidence to suggest
that there is a significant ongoing relationship between Ayers.
Using the Republican argument we all would be “terrorists” or
“criminals” because without doubt we have interacted with one or
the other. The only reason why McCain keeps saying that we need all
the details is because he has not heard the “detail” which he
wants to hear, that being there is a strong connection. However, he
is going to be waiting a very long time as this is an association
which has already been put under a very highly powered microscope!
However, I do not believe McCain even
thinks there is a strong relationship between the two. He and Sarah
are simply trying to sow the seeds of discontent and to play on our
fears of terrorists. What is truly sad though is that they are
questioning not only Obama's patriotism but that of his supporters as
well. We must continue fighting to get the word out there that Obama
is not a bad guy and that he does have what it takes to lead this
country back in the right direction!
